I never thought the day would come...
...when I agreed with something Osama bin-Laden said, but read this:

"We have not found it difficult to deal with the Bush administration in light of the resemblance it bears to the regimes in our countries, half of which are ruled by the military and the other half of which are ruled by the sons of kings and presidents.

Our experience with them is lengthy and both types are replete with those who are characterised by pride, arrogance, greed and misappropriation of wealth.

This resemblance began after the visits of Bush Senior to the region at a time when some of our compatriots were dazzled by America and hoping that these visits would have an effect on our countries. All of a sudden he was affected by these monarchies and military regimes and became jealous of their remaining decades in their position to embezzle the public wealth of the Nation without supervision or accounting.

So he took dictatorship and suppression of freedoms to his son and they named it the Patriot Act under the pretences of fighting terrorism.

In addition, Bush sanctioned the installing of sons as state governors and did not forget to import expertise in election fraud from the regions presidents to Florida to be made use of in moments of difficulty.

All that we have mentioned has made it easy for us to provoke and bait this administration."

2 days and counting...
"This isn't the election in which to make the quixotic but satisfying point that you'd really rather vote Green, or the quixotic but satisfying point that you'd really rather not have to vote for any more white men in tight blue suits at all.

This is an election in which to vote for *the greater likelihood of there being more elections in the future*."

-Bravus, from the William Gibson Board

Is it something about the name George?
My friend goheiGohei posted the full text of the Declaration of Independance on his journal.  In reading it over, I'm nonplussed by the remarkable similarties between King George III and George W. Bush:

He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.

Or, you know, let said judges win the election for him.

He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people...

Homeland Security?  TSA?  Hmmmm....

He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.

Do I really need to explain this one?

For depriving us, in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury:

Just ask all the people who've been disappeared for suspected ties to terrorism... Oh wait you can't; noone knows where they are!

He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty and perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.

I dunno, sounds like the "independant contractors" in Iraq....

Ok, if Bush wins, we either leave the country... or we start a revolution.

Politics and other lies in real time (Cross Posted)
Just now:

John Kerry: This president said that in the war on terror....after 9/11....he wasn't concerned about Osama Bin Laden.

George Bush: Hehe...well I don't believe I said that. That's another one of those exaggerations.

THE PRESIDENT:  Well, as I say, we haven't heard much from him.  And I wouldn't necessarily say he's at the center of any command structure.  And, again, I don't know where he is.  I  --  I'll repeat what I said.  I truly am not that concerned about him.  I know he is on the run.

Here I go again, spreading liberal lies and distortions; hell, I probably got that from Michael Moore's site or some other piece of left-wing propaganda....

Sure, www.whitehouse.gov is known for its slanderous attacks on the president.

That's it, I'm out. That was the first fucking question and the shit flows freely. I saw goddamn HOWARD ZINN speak at BC today; there's no way I'm losing any of the IQ points I gained. Fuck that yammering bobble head.

FBI seizes Indymedia servers

The FBI has issued an order to hosting provider Rackspace in the US, ordering it to turn over two of the servers hosting the Independent Media Centre's websites in the UK, a statement from the group says.

Rackspace has offices in the US and the UK. Independent Media Center, which is better known as Indymedia, was set up in 1999 to provide grassroots coverage of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) protests in Seattle.

Rackspace complied with the FBI order, without first notifying Indymedia, and turned over Indymedia's server in the UK. This affects over 20 Indymedia sites worldwide, the group said.
